Bodies in Tomb

[Bodies in tomb]

The coffin of Qi Guo Wang (Wanyan Yan, Jurchen name Wolun), a very high ranking official of the Jurchen Jin Dynasty (A.D. 1115 to 1234) of medieval China. Buried in 1162, the Prince of Qi received this fiefdom bestowed by the Jin Emperor. Just prior to his death, Wanyan Yan was the Supreme Military Commander of the Jin empire. Here, the couple in the tomb are being x-rayed as part of the opening of the coffin in the Harbin hospital.
