Pottery censer

[Pottery censer]

A national treasure of China, this pottery censer was recovered from Sanling Tomb Number 4 of the Bohai Imperial Mausoleum associated with the capital of Long Quan, near modern Ningan City. The tri-colour glaze of green, yellow and brown reveals a strong Tang Dynasty influence. The vessel's feet have a lion's face design while floral patterns on the lid provide openings to release incense.
