The Dragon Commands...
As the Ming Dynasty ebbed, there arose yet another people from Dongbei. These were the Manchus, who traced their ancestry to the Jurchen founders of the Jin state. The Manchus studied the fate of their earlier kinsmen with care; by means of their Banner system for military conquest, they supplanted the Ming, eventually acquiring most of the territory we now associate with the modern Chinese state. The Qing was the last of China's dynasties, existing from A.D. 1644-1911.

[Ceremonial robe] [Blue dragon design] Porcelain manufacturing techniques were perfected during Qing times. This Dynasty was reflected primarily through twenty elegant porcelains from the Heilongjiang Provincial Museum—particularly those featuring dragon imagery. The Qing artifacts included three Manchu dragon robes. Jade, gold and silver artifacts from the tomb of General Fu Ming R were also displayed; this General and his son Shou Shan both served as Military Governors in nineteenth century northeast China.
