The Canadian Pacific Railway maintained a well-oiled advertising campaign promoting immigration to the Canadian West.
Artists were commissioned to paint eye-catching scenes that showcased the Prairies' agricultural potential, as well as the comfortable elegance offered by the Company's ocean fleet and railway steamers.
Promotional material came in the form of posters, photographs, pamphlets and books published in many different languages and distributed throughout Europe.
