The mandate of the Government History Program (now known as the Military & Political History Program) is to research, collect, preserve, provide long-term care and exhibit artifacts relevant to the history and material culture of federal, provincial, and municipal government services affecting Alberta and Albertans. At present, the program focusses on Canadian military history as it relates to the tradition of service of Albertans. Research, collections, exhibitions and publications reflect this focus.
