Located in Edmonton, the Royal Alberta Museum is one of Canada's most popular museums. Set in a park just west of downtown, the Museum offers a full range of exhibitions and activities for every age level and interest. Feature exhibitions at the Museum are changing all the time. Behind the scenes, 13 curatorial programs are responsible for building and making accessible some of the finest cultural and natural history collections in the country.

Getting to the Museum

The bridge replacement project on 102 Avenue
The 102 Avenue bridge over Groat Road is scheduled to be replaced starting in 2014. We're happy to say that it's business as usual for the Royal Alberta Museum during bridge construction!
Starting April 2014
The bridge's usual four lanes will be reduced to two in preparation for construction. Please allow extra travel time.
On July 1, 2014
The bridge on 102 Avenue over Groat Road will be closed completely to vehicle and pedestrian traffic until the fall of 2015. It will be replaced with a new bridge.
Getting to the Museum by car during bridge closure
From the West – Take 102 Avenue eastbound, as usual. Expect delays.
From the North – Take 142 Street southbound to 102 Avenue and turn left (a new traffic signal will make it easier) and continue eastbound on 102 Avenue. Expect delays.
From the East – Take 107 Avenue and go left out of the traffic circle onto 142 Street southbound. Continue to 102 Avenue and turn left (a new traffic signal will make it easier) and continue eastbound on 102 Avenue. Expect delays.
From the South – Take the Whitemud westbound and exit at 149 Street. Continue northbound on 149 Street to 102 Avenue and turn right. Continue eastbound on 102 Avenue. Expect delays.
From Groat Road northbound – Exit at 107 Avenue and turn left. Continue westbound to the traffic circle, go left out of the traffic circle onto 142 Street southbound. Continue to 102 Avenue and turn left (a new traffic signal will make it easier) and continue eastbound on 102 Avenue. Expect delays.

Getting to the Museum by bus
Beginning June 29, 2014 a free ETS shuttle will operate every 30 minutes to connect museum visitors with bus routes 1, 14, 100 and 120 which are detoured to Stony Plain Road.

Deliveries to the Museum
The east entrance road to the Museum on 102 Avenue will remain open during bridge construction. Deliveries will be received as usual.
