Join us for a special evening of performances and activities as we welcome new Albertans to RAM!


Enjoy live music from Edmonton Music Prize winner HAIDEE ,  join RAM Curator of Non-Avian Vertebrates Nicholas Cairns for an introduction to our feature exhibition Orcas: Our Shared Future, connect with Assistant Curator of Daily Life and Leisure Julia Rudko to see objects and learn about the history of the iconic Calgary Stampede.  The first 100 kids to join us will also receive a free colouring book!

This event is presented in partnership with Canoo, an app developed by the Institute for Canadian Citizenship. Canoo offers free access to over 2,000 partner destinations across Canada, including the RAM.


Please note: While the event is open to all members of the public, free admission to the museum is available only to Canoo members. To qualify, newcomers must register and be approved through the Canoo app in advance. Canoo is free and available to:
 

  • New Canadian citizens within their first year of citizenship
  • New Canadian permanent residents within their first five years of PR status

Live Performance by HAIDEE
A Filipino-Canadian pop artist whose heartfelt lyrics and shimmering synth-pop sound explore themes of identity, resilience, and the immigrant experience. Her award-winning debut album, This Shouldn't Be Typical, has resonated with audiences across Canada. 


6 pm – 8 pm

Step into Stampede History
Drop by our table to explore the roots of “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth” with authentic historical objects from the Calgary Stampede. Discover cowboy gear, vintage posters, and photos that bring this world-famous event to life with Assistant Curator of Daily Life and Leisure, Julia Rudko.

Orcas: Our Shared Future – Intro & Q&A 
Join us inside the exhibition for a short introduction every half hour starting at 6 pm. Ask questions and dive deeper into the world of orcas with Nicholas Cairns, Curator of Non-Avian Vertebrates.
