International Day of Women and Girls in Science

February 11, 2020

In honour of International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we invited six-year-old Sia to interview her mom Diana, our Assistant Curator of Quaternary Palaeontology here at RAM.

Spoiler Alert: Sia finds out that her mom REALLY loves science. ????

The UN declared February 11 as International Day of Women and Girls in Science to bring attention to the need for more Women STEM fields. Currently, less than 30 per cent of researchers worldwide are women. According to UNESCO data (2014 - 2016), only around 30 per cent of all female students select STEM-related fields in higher education. Join us in celebrating women and girls, who are leading innovation and call for actions to remove all barriers that hold them back.
